What jigbee is, in one page

jigbee is a Mac app that does long computer jobs for you: comparing, booking, filling in, filing, checking back. It runs on the ChatGPT plan you already pay for, and every job teaches the next one.

How a job runs

  1. You type the job the way you would tell a person. Find the two cheapest nonstop flights CLT to SFO on the 15th. Don't book.
  2. jigbee decides whether that is a chat or a job, recalls what it knows (your preferences, how it did jobs like this before, notes about the sites involved) and starts in the browser: your own Chrome if the extension is connected, a private built-in one otherwise.
  3. It works one step at a time: look at the page, act, look again. You can watch every step, steer it mid-job (“aisle seats only”), or close the window and come back.
  4. Before anything it cannot undo (pay, book, send, delete, submit a final form) it stops and asks. Sign-ins, codes and captchas are yours too: it pauses, you do it in the same browser, it carries on.
  5. It ends with an answer written for you, a table or links when that is the natural shape, and a report file for anything substantial. Then it writes down what would help next time.

What it is for

Jobs with many clicks and a clear finish: a comparison across sites, a booking up to the pay button, a form filled from a document, a page watched every morning, receipts pulled from an inbox. Not programming: for code, use Codex or Claude Code; jigbee is for the long jobs around them.

What it costs

The app is free and open source (MIT). Jobs spend your ChatGPT plan's usage, shown per job in dollars at list price so you can see it. A flight search is about a dime; a one-page read is a cent or two. The evals page has the measured numbers.
